Common setup checks.
Use these checks when something in the farm setup, queue, scanner workflow, inventory, or plan limits does not behave the way the shop expects.
Printer and queue checks
Most queue issues come from missing printer, file, or material information.
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| No printer appears ready | Open the printer record and confirm status is Ready. Printers marked Maintenance or Offline should not be treated as available. |
| File is hard to route | Check material type, preferred printer, estimated print time, and notes. |
| Job cannot start cleanly | Confirm a file, printer, material, quantity, and status have been selected. |
| Queue feels cluttered | Clear completed, canceled, or failed work after the operator has reviewed it. |
Scanner and label checks
Most scanner issues are scanner setup or cursor focus issues.
Scanner enters nothing
Confirm the scanner is paired or connected as a keyboard-style input device.
Scan does not submit
Set the scanner to send Enter or Return after each scan, or use the manual Scan button.
Scan opens the wrong item
Check that the printed label belongs to the correct part, inventory item, build sheet, run, or location.
Labels do not fit
Select the correct label size before printing and use the print preview before running a batch.
Plan limit checks
When a limit is reached, the app should explain what limit was reached and which plan adds more capacity.
- Printer limit: check current plan and active printer count.
- File limit: check how many print file records are saved.
- Job limit: check monthly job usage for the current plan.
- Farm to Enterprise: Enterprise is the path for more than 12 printers.
