Getting started with Hexcore Flow.
Use this guide to set up the basic 3D print farm workflow: printers, connection method, print files, filament, queue work, and product production.
Before you start
You can begin with manual tracking, then add Hex Connect and barcode workflows as your shop gets organized.
Printer details
Know the printer name, model, nozzle size, build volume, and the material types it usually runs.
Print file details
Gather the file names, material requirements, estimated print time, and compatible printer notes.
Material details
Track spool type, color, remaining amount, low-stock point, and which printer or file it supports.
Set up the first workflow
Follow these steps in order. After this, the app has enough information to help you queue and track real shop work.
Add your first printer
Open Setup & Fleet, then choose Printers. Add the printer name, model, build volume, nozzle size, material notes, status, and connection method.
Choose a connection path
Use manual status tracking at first, or open Hex Connect when you are ready to connect Hex Connect to supported printers on your shop network.
Add print files
Open Print Files. Add a file name, material, estimated time, compatible printer, and any notes the operator needs before printing.
Add filament or material
Open Filament. Add material type, color, remaining amount, low-stock level, and assigned printer if needed.
Queue the first job
Open Print Work, then Queue. Select a file, printer, material, quantity, priority, and operator note. Review the preview before adding it to the queue.
Move the job through the floor
Use statuses like Staged, Printing, Cooling, QC, Packed, Complete, Failed, and Canceled to show where each job stands.
What to open next
After the first job is queued, use Product Production when you want product kits, build sheets, production runs, pricing, labels, and inventory to work together.
