Frequently asked questions.

Answers for shops comparing 3D print farm software, printer capacity, restock automation, production packets, shop-floor labels, and local 3D printer access workflows.

Are core features locked by plan?

No. The main workflow is available across plans so users can set up printers, add print files, track filament, run the queue, manage inventory, print labels, create product kits, build sheets, production runs, pricing records, reports, and backups. Plans control capacity and automation depth.

What are the current plan limits?

Free includes 2 printers, 25 jobs per month, and 10 print files. Starter includes 3 printers, 150 jobs per month, and 50 print files. Shop includes 6 printers, 500 jobs per month, and 150 print files. Farm includes 12 printers with unlimited jobs and print files. Enterprise is for 13+ printers and larger operations.

What is Enterprise for?

Enterprise is for larger 3D print farms, 13+ printer fleets, multi-location workflows, and shops that need higher capacity with priority workflow support. Contact support@hexcoreflow.com to discuss Enterprise access.

Is Hexcore Flow only for Bambu printers?

No. Hexcore Flow supports mixed-printer farm organization with setup profiles for Bambu, Prusa, Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic, Flashforge, QIDI, Sovol, Raise3D, Ultimaker, Voron/custom, and other printers. Bambu-focused workflows are included, but the app is not limited to Bambu-only shops.

What is a Product Kit?

A Product Kit is the product setup area. It can hold the product name, SKU, printed parts, purchased parts, quantities, supplier notes, default production details, labels, and links to the related build sheet, production run, and pricing workflow.

What is a Build Sheet?

A Build Sheet is a production packet for a product. It can include SKU, version, status, product photo, linked parts, supplier information, purchase URLs, work instructions, QC checklist, packaging checklist, safety notes, pricing, production run math, and print/PDF output.

Can Hexcore Flow calculate product pricing?

Yes. The pricing calculator can estimate material cost, print time, machine hourly cost, labor, packaging or shipping cost, landed cost, profit per unit, and suggested sale prices at selected margin targets. It can also use saved filament spool cost when the selected spool has cost and spool-size data.

How do production runs affect inventory?

Production runs can calculate required quantities, show shortages, create print or purchase requests, and show a completion preview. When the run is completed, the app can deduct tracked inventory lines and increase finished linked-part stock.

What happens if a production run has shortages?

The run summary separates print shortages from buy shortages. Printed-part shortages can become print jobs, while hardware, packaging, consumable, and supplier shortages can become purchase/restock requests.

Can it print barcode or QR labels?

Yes. Hexcore Flow can create printable labels and shop-floor scan cards for parts, inventory items, restock cards, build sheets, production runs, station cards, shop locations, and custom labels.

What does the Scan Center do?

The Scan Center gives operators one place to scan or type a code, open the related record, and choose the next safe action such as restock, use/consume, move location, open a build sheet, load a production run, or view items in a shop area.

Can it track non-printed inventory?

Yes. Hexcore Flow can track hardware, heat-set inserts, nuts, bolts, magnets, shipping boxes, labels, consumables, printer replacement parts, finished goods, printed components, and other shop stock with photos, supplier notes, locations, bins, totes, reorder points, and restock cards.

Can I add pictures to inventory items?

Yes. Hexcore Flow supports photos for printed parts, shop inventory, printer records, replacement-part records, and build sheet instruction steps so operators can identify items faster.

Where do I download Hex Connect?

Download Hex Connect for Windows or Mac, then run it on a trusted shop computer that is on the same network as the printers you want Hexcore Flow to reach.

What is Hex Connect?

Hex Connect is the local connector for Windows or Mac that lets the Hexcore Flow web app reach supported 3D printers on your trusted shop network. It can show connection health, return printer status, and receive approved workspace requests.

Does Hex Connect bypass printer safety controls?

No. Hex Connect is designed around supported printer connection methods and local safety settings. Printer controls remain with the printer and its configured connection method, and control is disabled by default until enabled for the local printer.

Can Hex Connect control printers?

Hex Connect can support printer status, pause, resume, and cancel requests for supported local OctoPrint and Moonraker/Klipper setups when the printer is configured, reachable on the local network, and control is enabled for that printer. Other printer workflows can still use assignment, status notes, handoff, and production tracking.

Can a partner farm use Hex Connect?

Yes, but the partner farm must run and pair its own Hex Connect on a trusted computer that can reach its own printers. Broad partner-to-partner control should be handled with clear approvals and local control enabled only where the partner farm chooses to allow it.

Can Shopify orders create print jobs?

Hexcore Flow Connect can map store SKUs to parts so order payloads can create restock requests and queue workflows. The app includes access keys, webhook payload previews, SKU mapping, and event history tools for connected shop workflows.

How is access managed?

Hexcore Flow uses Shopify for subscription checkout and the protected Hexcore Flow account system for workspace access. Use the same email address for checkout and your app account.

Can two 3D print farms work together?

Yes. Hexcore Flow Network lets approved partner farms share selected jobs, set permissions, track production status, and manage file access rules. Network workflows are included with Farm and Enterprise.
