How to create a print queue.
The queue connects print files, printers, material, quantity, priority, and operator notes so work can move cleanly from staged to complete.
What the queue needs first
A queue job works best when the app already has a printer, a file, and a material record.
- Printer: The machine that will run the job, including status, nozzle, build volume, and connection method.
- Print file: The file or part record, including material, estimated print time, and compatible printer notes.
- Material: The spool or material profile used for the job, including remaining amount and low-stock point.
- Quantity: The number of parts, plates, or runs the operator needs to produce.
Queue a print job
Use the Queue form when you are ready to stage a file for a specific printer or let the app recommend the best available match.
Open Queue
Go to Print Work, then select Queue.
Pick the print file
Choose the file or part that needs to be printed. Check material and printer notes before adding the job.
Pick the printer
Select a specific printer, or use the recommended printer when the record has enough compatibility information.
Pick the material
Choose the filament or material that should be used. If material is missing or low, handle that before starting the job.
Set quantity and priority
Enter quantity, priority, due date, and an operator note when the job needs special handling.
Review and add to queue
Check the preview, then add the job. The job can move through shop statuses as work progresses.
Queue status meanings
Use statuses consistently so the dashboard shows the true state of the shop.
| Status | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Staged | The job is ready to start but has not begun printing. |
| Printing | The machine is actively running the job. |
| Cooling | The plate or part is cooling before removal or handling. |
| QC | The job is waiting for inspection, cleanup, or fit check. |
| Packed | The printed parts are ready for inventory, shipping, or production use. |
| Complete | The work is finished and can be cleared from active queue views. |
| Failed | The print needs review, rework, or a rerun. |
| Canceled | The job was stopped or is no longer needed. |
