How to use barcode and scanner mode.
Hexcore Flow can work with common USB and Bluetooth scanners that act like a keyboard. Use labels to open records, receive stock, use inventory, and create restock requests.
Scanner setup
Most shop scanners work without special drivers when they are paired as a keyboard.
Use keyboard mode
Set the scanner to HID or keyboard mode so a scan types the code into the active app field.
Add Enter after scan
Configure the scanner to send Enter or Return after each scan so Hexcore Flow can process the code right away.
Use common label types
Code 39 and Code 128 are reliable choices for shop labels and restock cards.
Use Shop Floor Scanner mode
Scanner mode is best for stations where the operator scans labels throughout the day.
Open the Farm Dashboard
Use the Shop Floor Scanner area on the dashboard.
Choose the default scan action
Select what should happen when a code is scanned: open the record, receive stock, use stock, create restock, or stage print restock.
Start scanner mode
Turn scanner mode on when the station is ready for barcode input. Pause it before normal typing if needed.
Scan a label
Scan a part label, inventory label, build sheet, production run, station card, or location label. Hexcore Flow shows the matching record and available actions.
Review the action
Confirm the record and action before receiving inventory, using stock, or creating a restock request.
Best shop habit
Keep one scanner station near inventory and another near packing or QC if the shop has enough volume. This makes receiving, using, and restocking items faster.
