How to add and manage printers.
Printer records are the foundation of the farm. They help the queue, material tracking, maintenance, and production workflow understand what each machine can run.
What to enter for each printer
Clean printer records make job routing easier and reduce confusion on the shop floor.
Name and model
Use a short printer name that operators recognize, then add the brand or model for compatibility notes.
Nozzle and build volume
Track nozzle size and build area so files can be matched to the right machine.
Connection and status
Choose Manual, Hex Connect, or Network, then keep the printer status current: Ready, Printing, Maintenance, or Offline.
Add a printer
Use this flow when setting up a new machine or replacing an old one.
Open Printers
Go to Setup & Fleet, then select Printers.
Enter printer details
Add the printer name, model, build volume, nozzle size, material notes, connection method, and current status.
Save the printer
After saving, the printer can be selected from queue forms, file routing, material assignment, and operator dashboard cards.
Edit or remove when needed
Update the record when a printer changes nozzle size, goes offline, moves to maintenance, or leaves the farm.
Good naming habit
Use printer names that match the shop floor. Examples: P1S-01, PETG-02, Mini-Prototype, or Shipping-Bay-Printer.
