Set up Hex Connect for local 3D printer access.
Install Hex Connect on a trusted Windows or Mac computer on the same network as your 3D printers. The connector gives Hexcore Flow a local path to printer status, assignments, and approved workflow requests.
Setup checklist
Follow this order on the trusted Windows or Mac computer that can reach the printers on your local shop network.
1. Log in to Hexcore Flow
Open your account and confirm you can access the protected app.
2. Open Hex Connect
Go to the app Hex Connect section or Account > Hex Connect.
3. Select Pair Hex Connect
Hexcore Flow creates a six-digit pairing code so the local connector can attach to this workspace.
4. Run the pairing file
On Windows, download Hex Connect, unzip the folder, and run pair-hex-connect.bat. On Mac, download the Mac package, unzip it, and run the pairing command file.
5. Enter the pairing code
Hex Connect stores its workspace token after the code is accepted.
6. Start Hex Connect
Run the Windows start file or the Mac start command file to keep the local connector online. Keep it open when Hexcore Flow should be able to reach printers through that computer.
7. Configure supported local printers
Inside Hex Connect, add supported local printer connection details. Enable control only for printers where the local setup has been verified.
8. Assign printers and areas
Return to Hex Connect, refresh the connector list, choose the connector, and save printer and area assignments.
